Passing it on to the Next Generation

The North County Winds provides a unique opportunity for students in the local area to join our band through the Mentorship program.  Based on recommendations from the student’s band director or private instructor, students join the band for the entire year.  Ranging in grades from 6th to 12th, the students bring both talent and a commitment to music to the band.  In return, they are provided with an environment that includes more challenging music than they might play in their school bands and an opportunity to engage with more experienced musicians.  

We value the students who participate in the Mentorship program and they have become an important part of our band.  We encourage local instructors to recommend students who display the necessary talent and commitment to play in the North County Winds.
